Choosing Foundations for Dark Skinned and deeper Hues..
I have been on a quest since high school to find the" perfect" foundation.
It seems that the cosmetic companies forgot there are skin tones besides porcelain.
I remember high school days during the late 1990s, deep hued women had little to no foundation options. However, things are turning around, we have a few brands that are catered to our skin tones. This is indeed great news.
THe one advice that i would suggest is knowing your skin type (oily, dry, combination and normal) this will help in determining what foundation type you should choose. I have very oily skin, especially the T-Zone and so i normally opt for a powder finish.
If you have a drier skin i would recommend cream or liquid based finish. ( if you need more information on skin type i will gladly do a detail post on it)
For oilier skinned ladies I have tried a few brands and the best one i have found is Faces...Faces is not a very popular brand but they really do cater to ethnic skin and its pretty reasonable in terms of price point. It is very important to get the consultant to help you choose the colour and make sure that they are checking and matching and blending it into your jawline.
Remember ladies to blend blend blend....and make sure that you test the product in natural light and remember less is more , especially for darker skinned beauties.
